Behind the Lens

To start off, let me welcome you to my blog…. Welcome!  🙂

I’m not a professional photographer (or blogger) by any means. I don’t even own a professional camera (yet). I’m just an American girl living in Japan and exploring as much as life allows. I love to travel, go hiking, and enjoy nights out on the town. Moving to Japan in 2015, at the age of 29, was my first time leaving the continental U.S. (shocking, I know). Since then, I have taken every opportunity possible to explore this beautifully unique and breathtaking world that we live in. I can’t sum up in words what I have experienced and all that I have learned (and continue to experience & learn), but I can share my photos with you, and through them hopefully my story.

One of my favorite travel quotes is by Anthony Bourdain when he said that “Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully you leave something good behind.”

Click on the ‘adventures’ tab to check out my posts. I hope you enjoy my blog and my photos as much as I enjoyed each experience that took place behind the lens.

Wishing you a lifetime of adventures!
