Bali..Bali..Bali….such a majestic, beautiful, tropical island paradise. Absolutely blissful.
I had the pleasure of visiting Bali in the summer of 2015 and exploring the local hot spots with my childhood best friend who had been living in Bali with her fiance for 3 years teaching English. We went to Padang Padang Beach to paddleboard, sun bathe, and enjoy fresh coconut water. Up next was Uluwatu Beach where we crawled through cave-like formations to discover some hidden beaches. We visited one of the temples in Bali just in time for a fire show at sunset, with some adorable monkey’s close by as well.
One of the most exciting adventures on this trip was waking up in the middle of the night to hike Mount Batur (one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia) at 3am to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, we were in heavy fog at the summit and missed the sunrise altogether. However, it was still a pretty epic experience to hike in the dark, and then have our guide cook us eggs for breakfast using the heat from the volcano’s crater. After leaving Mt. Batur in the afternoon, we drove over to Bali Pulina to relax with some local coffee out on the rice terrace.
Up next…Lombok, Indonesia!
